Work Experience
In light of the recent school closures and government advice surrounding COVID-19, we have taken the decision to cancel Year 10 and Year 12 work experience that was scheduled to take place in the summer term. Although many students have already secured work placements, the logistics surrounding ensuring placements are safe and fit to go ahead means that it is not viable to continue as planned.
As a school we will be contacting all placements that have already been confirmed to advise them of this decision. Students will not need to contact placements themselves.
The careers team will be working to ensure that both of these groups of students get to have an experience of what a workplace is like in some way, either virtually, or through a visit in due course. We will also be putting a variety of careers resources on the school website's CareersHUB which students can work through in their own time.
We understand the disappointment this will cause many students and we are proud of the effort they have put in to finding valuable work experience placements. We are also grateful to all of the employers that have offered placements and the parents and carers that have supported the work experience programme.
