16-19 Bursary
The 16-19 Bursary is a grant intended to help students at Bishop Challoner Sixth Form who are in financial hardship in regard to essential costs of school i.e. travel or equipment. You can apply if either of the following relates to you:
OPTION 1 DISCRETIONARY BURSARY
You are between the ages of 16-19, and enrolled in full time studies at Bishop Challoner Sixth Form. You live in a household where the total household income is less than £25,500, and you have the right to live in the UK and have been a UK resident for at least 3 years prior. (If you have either indefinite leave to enter or right to remain in the UK, you must provide a copy of your Home Office letter)
OPTION 2 VULNERABLE BURSARY
You are identified as a vulnerable learner. Vulnerable learner groups are: young people who are in or recently left care, young people who get Income Support or Universal Credit because they’re financially supporting themselves, young people who are receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in their name and either Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit or receiving Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
The Bursary fund can help to contribute towards the cost of essential items, this is dependant on individual eligibility and needs:
- Bus pass to travel to school
- Lunch Money
- Textbooks
- Mandatory school trips
- Extra Supplies (ie art)
