Bishop Challoner Catholic College will be hosting a Christmas Health and Food (HAF) programme for all Year 6, 7 and 8 students during the Christmas holidays. Due to COVID restrictions students have had limited opportunities over the past 18 months with many having missed out on numerous sporting, enriching and educational activities. The HAF Christmas programme will provide an invaluable opportunity for all Year 6, 7 and 8 students to experience a fun four days through a range exciting activities, sport and food.
The main focus of the programme is to open up our facilities during the school holidays to provide enrichment activities. Each student will receive four days of engaging activities with no cost to parents/carers for their child to attend the programme as it is fully funded by the Department of Education.
Your son/daughter will take part in a wide range of activities and will include cooking, sport, dance, computing/drones, drama and music. Students will experience a day trips to Birmingham City Centre for Bowling, Golf and cinema. All school based activities and school trips will be supervised by staff from Bishop Challoner Catholic College.
The Christmas programme will be divided into two identical progammes with one hundred students accommodated on each week
Programme 1:
Friday 17th, Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd of December
Programme 2:
Thursday 23rd, Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th. Please be mindful that we will be closed for Christmas between Friday 24th December and Monday 27th December.
Each day will follow a four period school day. Registration would take place each morning at 9am and students would be dismissed at 3pm each day. There will be sporting activities for the students to take part in everyday during lunch time. Students will receive an activity timetable once they have been registered. A typical week could look like the example below:

We ask that if you are interested in registering your child to take part in the programme then please use the following link https://forms.gle/z8S98cRqCWN4B2pu5 to sign up before Wednesday 15th December. We would ask parents/carers to select the preferred week for their child, and to confirm if they will be collected each day or can make their own way home once dismissed.
We will provide lunch (sandwich, snack and drink) each day for all students free of charge.
