29 November 2021
Dear Parents/Carers,
Following the announcement from the government and DfE over the weekend, face coverings should be worn in communal areas in all settings for staff, visitors and pupils or students in year 7 and above, unless they are exempt.
Students (in year 7 or above) should continue to wear face coverings on public and dedicated school transport, unless they are exempt.
As a result, we will be asking all students and staff to wear face coverings in all communal areas from tomorrow, Tuesday 30th November. This includes corridors and eating areas (unless seated to eat).
Students may, of course, continue to wear their face coverings in classrooms and outside areas if they feel more comfortable doing so, although this won’t be mandatory.
Year 11 students will be asked to wear their face coverings when conducting mock examination in the auditorium. Face coverings can be removed once they are in the exam hall or left on if they wish to do so.
I would be grateful if you supported this by ensuring that your child has a supply of disposable or reusable face coverings.
I would also encourage your child to continue to carry out twice weekly lateral flow tests (Wednesday and Sunday) and follow up any positive lateral flow tests with a PCR test.
I would like to thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Coughlan
Principal
