September INSET

Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th September were full days of INSET for all staff at Challoner.

Each day, coordinated by Mr Hearnden, offered a blend of statutory training, teaching and learning research-based development, innovation, team meetings and department time.

Mr Cunnane set the scene on Monday morning; offering a spiritual value-led session to focus staff and present the mission statement of the school. He spoke about the distinct nature of a catholic school; what makes our community special. He celebrated and displayed staff and student achievements and gave all a chance to pause, reflect and consider the year ahead.

All staff attended safeguarding training, led by Mrs Nutt and Mrs Peckover. Mrs Marsh led an in-depth session on subject specific reading and Mr Ravenscroft delivered the vision for Innovation for the year ahead, whilst outlining the support that is offered by the team. On the second day, the Pastoral and SEND teams delivered key guidance and procedures, with a focus on positivity, personal development and rewards.
